2. klasse // Bærekraftig design - TPD4200

The goal of this project is to design for sustainability and we have carried out our ideas and concepts through the brainstorming, researches, observations, designing as well as evaluations and reflections. The practice we have chosen is the reduction of plastic consumption in the soap packaging, as the plastic recycling problem is one of the focal issues of environment which is badly needed to be solved. So we started to think about what kind of things could be used to replace the plastic packages of soaps. Soon we had two directions; one was to change the material of soap bottles and the other was to have a soap dispenser which can totally eliminate the plastic bottle packages. Afterwards we came in touch with our stakeholder, Etikken, where there were an already established soap dispenser system, which matched our vision. After the observation at Etikken, we discovered that the customers did not have much interest in this environmentally friendly system, which means that this sustainable system could not perform its functions very well. For this reason and other, we wanted to redesign this dispenser system and plenty of ideas came to our mind. Our final product is a box that makes the process of buying and selling liquid soap by the liter a better experience both for the customer and the store owner.
