Summer intern – Communication Researcher for DNV Maritime Incubator
In the maritime industry, critical safety systems use old ways for collecting and analyzing data. A
lot is done manually, meaning that someone goes to a sensor and “reads off the meter” and
enters the numbers on an offline tablet. The way of doing things at sea sometimes feels as old as
the industry itself.
At the DNV Maritime Incubator we know that our industry is ripe for disruption. That is why use
modern design methodology to create optimal systems for collecting and analyzing data to
reduce risk at sea. We employ a high-paced innovation program to create and test ideas that
solves concrete problems and create business opportunities. We implement those that give
results and scale up when we have proven results.
Communication research – target group insights and the competitive landscape
We believe that the role is more about methodology and attitude than a specific educational
background. That is why we seek creative, structured, empathetic and curious students from
either communication, marketing, design, user experience or business environments.
Interns to help us out with some of the fundamentals of our go-to-market strategy: target group
insights. We want to know about who we target, where we reach them and what we should
communicate to them. The insights will help us understand “what does it take to change the
various target groups minds?” It also essential to learn about our competitive landscape in a
marketing, communication and brand perspective.
We seek students that find technology fascinating and wants to be a part of a competent and fast-
moving innovation team. Bridging the communication, design and technology disciplines through
hands-on work is a unique opportunity. You will gain visibility in a large multinational company
and see aspects of the technology, strategy and business relations for the maritime industry.
We expect concrete deliverables from the project in form of executable strategies and marketing
Specifically, we want you to find and structure information on these areas:
– Social marketing landscape in maritime IT/digital
– Marketing channels / types of campaigns / assumed impact
– Communication platform - key message across different medias/channels to
